Post Body

I am at a loss with this part of the electrical set up. I am having a hard time finding a good descriptive video or article.

Firstly, using a 2018 ram promaster. i think those have 180 amp alternators? does this matter??? im confused.

Next using 2 100AH lithium lifepo4 batteries in parallel. (i read somewhere that this makes a big difference to which relay you can use)

Was hoping to use 4AWG wire, but its looking like i'll need bigger? 1/0? 2/0? 3/0? who knows....

A few of the issues i am having.

  • What gauge wire to i use for this whole set up? i saw 4 gauge somewhere, but im unsure if thats right.
  • If i am using 4 gauge wire, is 120amp fuse ok because 4gauge wire is rated at 100 amps?
  • Does distance of the VSR to the leisure battery matter? or should it be closer to the starter battery?
  • Not even exactly sure where to connect it in the van near the starter battery? is it connecfcted to the battery? the alternator? im so lost.

Thanks for your help in advance!
