Missing Package?

A package was delivered (marked as placed in the mailbox but I doubt the box could fit in there) when no one was home. My parents came home about 3 hours later and I came home 5 hours later. There was no package and I searched around my hosue. We're slightly panicked, especially since this package is probably $100 if I figured out which one it is but my parents also said they mark it as delivered but come back the next day to actually deliver it if their shift ends. Is this true? I'm really worried :/
