Everything from the invention of agriculture forward was a mistake.
Post Body

After the invention of agriculture we created societies of increasing inequality that led more or less directly to the vast system of unequal distribution we have today.

It took a VERY long time for our agricultural ancestors to reach the same level of health as the hunter gatherers that came before. Essentially until modern times. In poverty blighted parts of the third world it's only access to modern medicines that helps to keep life expectancy relatively high. But the people would have better diets as hunter gatherers.

We'd still live in small, connected bands and tribes instead of having a situation where we have millions of people feeling deeply alone while surrounded by others.

We would be directly connected to our labour instead of pouring out hours of labour mostly for our boss, or bosses boss, or bosses bosses boss etc. What we did would matter on a fundamental level to ourselves and those most important to us. And on the subject of labour I once read a study that suggested that Bush men only spent 19 hours a week on survival tasks! 19 hours! And that's in a modern and industrialised world. Technology hasn't saved us from work at all lol. (Anecdotal aside, even with my limited knowledge I could have foraged my food for a week in only 2 hours yesterday).

And I know we can't go back, and I'm not suggesting we should kill 6.97billion people, just that we messed up.

And sure our lived might be shorter, although some hunter gatherers do live to be 70 if they survive childhood. But there's more to life than just quantity.
