I know this is kind of a taboo topic, and kind of old, but the defense of Taehyung juuling is an issue. BTS is huge, and a lot of BTS fans are young. Juuling is already enough of an epidemic among kids as it is, it's not helping. However, Taehyung has the freedom to do what he wants. If he wants to juul, that's on him. The issue with it is how lightly kpop stans, especially on Twitter took it. A lot started to borderline fetishize is and praise it instead of just saying it was his choice. Stan Twitter is also relatively young, so to see the community not just defending him, but praising him (not to mention the Juul he used sold out that day) is super disheartening.
One thing I've always thought about regarding this is that it would have been great if BigHit addressed how far the juuling thing blew up — maybe something simple like "Neither BigHit or BTS condones behaviours like smoking or juuling", just to put it out there that they are NOT promoting the product to their fans. Regardless of parents or teachers educating children, such incidents by role models DO have an impression on very young fans (and A LOT of Bangtan fans are very young), and it's important to address it continuously that it is NOT okay to juul or smoke (to one's health).
