Hey everyone!
I finally have all the supplies I need to start growing mushrooms without using a grow kit. However, I don’t have a SAB (Still Air Box), but I do have an ozone generator. I plan to use it to help sterilize my workspace before inoculating liquid culture into sterilized grain bags, grain jars, and cleaned Uncle Ben's brown rice bags. The room I’ll be working in is about 10 square meters and mostly contains clothes and cosmetics in cabinets. There are no plants or pets, and I’ll be working on a glass table that I plan to clean thoroughly with disinfectant and 70% alcohol.
Has anyone here used an ozone generator to clean their workspace for mushroom cultivation? I only intend to use it for preparing the room before the inoculation process and won’t be using it afterward. I’ve heard that ozone can damage items made of rubber or latex, like gloves. Should I remove those from the room beforehand? Also, I’ve read that some people spray Lysol in the room before working with mycelium. Is that more effective than using ozone?
Any advice or experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
