I arrived in the UK from Spain on February 22, 2022 to be able to live with my boyfriend (spanish nationality) and escape from a precarious life work and intimately toxic life. I came with a job offer but when I arrived they changed their minds and I found myself without a job, money or savings. We tried to apply for the pre-settle because my partner has the settle (he has lived here ten years), but I was denied for not living together for more than two years. While the application was in progress I found a job in a cafe but we had to cancel the contract after a two month because by denying me the preseattle I had no right to work. After a complicated search, the citizen advice recommend us to apply for a fiance visa and we did so. In mid-September we managed to send the application. Biometrics on 30 Sept 2022. At the beginning of October we finished sending all the necessary documentation that they asked us for and they told us that between 6 and 8 weeks we would have an answer. It's been 19 weeks, no change to my applicant profile (still showing settled application from march) and we have no way of contacting anyone other than a robot on a phone that just tells us they're delayed because of the ukraine war. But I don't know how long I should wait. Meanwhile, I don't have the right to work, our income is minimal and we barely make it to the end of the month. With the rise in the price of electricity it is even more difficult for us. I need to know what is going to happen to organize my life. I understand that there may be delays and incidents but I am sinking into a deep anguished depression for not knowing what will become of my life. And because I can't have a normal life. I'm at home doing nothing but worried for everything. it's really affecting my mental health at this point. I've got to go to the Hospital a few times because the anxiety is affecting me physically too. We are absolutely desperate, we don't know who else to turn to. We just want to have a quiet life in this country, working and being functional and legal. I appreciate the attention received to this post.
