Ok ive read a few posts saying how bad it is. Can someone explain again. Im currently ubering with a 20mpg vehicle. Full time. And when i say full time im doing 60 70 hours a week.
Currently im looking at minimum. $1300 a week. Looking like 1k miles a week.
So if im doing math right..... Avg gas 3.5 roughly $210 in gas Minus mileage deduction $620 (i dont include wear and tear as profit)
Profit/week is $500
Now rental 300/week Gas 120 Add in optional insurance 50 No deduction as its not my vehicle
Profit 800
Why is it a bad idea to rent if your full time.
Also i wouldnt claim a mileage deduction but couldnt i claim the rental deduction? Thats 15,600 a year. I have yet to claim more than the 20k standard as a gig driver. But 15600 is a good headstart.
