Wtf is up with Uber lately?

I rely on it solely for transportation. The past month every ride is always 15-20 minutes away and the price is double? How do I save money spending 100 a day to get to/from work? And don’t even mention public buses I live in the largest city in America it takes 3 hours to get acrosss town via bus so that’s not an option.
