I probably shouldn’t have ever been on TRT, but I was recommended/suggested it by my physician nearly six years ago.
I probably had low T when I went in, but I was also 10lbs underweight and just been through some burly life trama. I wasn’t really healthy on any level at that point.
A couple years on Androgel and I had pretty good results. It’s an aggravating procedure but in particular I felt a lot less aches and soreness. I was 45.
The Insurance dance is real and Androgel was off the table. 2 months after that cold turkey I felt pretty crummy. No libido at all, which sucks in particular for me cause my wife is a masterpiece.
Decided to start injections at a local clinic. Nice folks, if you had a good result then that was a fair situation. They didn’t have the tools or expertise to deal with anything outside of a good result though.
180mg at first weekly then I split it to keep from turning red once a week. Red cells were consistently high. Had to donate more than I like.
That protocol worked for a bit and combined with HCG results were pretty good.
Then compounding HCG got terminated.
For the next 2 years I continued therapy but nothing about it was good.
Stopped cold turkey mid January, after over 5 years.
It’s been approximately 4 months since I stopped.
I feel way better. Overall just more peaceful. Balls back to respectable. Hair is getting thicker Etc.
I’ve anecdotally concluded that exogenous testosterone was very unhealthy for me. It had all kinds of side effects. My mental health was significantly compromised by it.
My experiment is over. It was close to 6 years long. I read an encyclopedia worth of both scientific and anecdotal information.
TRT is a big deal for your health. Be skeptical of the hype.
