If I could be more specific than the title, I would, but I'm really at a loss.

There's a character who goes through something rough. Everyone fawns over them to try to make sure they're alright, but they insist they are fine. Eventually, a wiser character is calm and silent with them and offers them a glass of water. The kind quiet environment allows the character to allow themself to cry and experience the emotions related to the event.

I remember nothing else. Gender, plot, general description of the character.

I don't even know if it was a comic or an animation, that's why I put "cartoon". Sorry.
