Championship games are expensive, and as the league grows they become a more national draw. This is largely good for the sport even as it stings the OG fans and diehards. Portland has a relatively smaller stadium, which has it's trade offs. We always have a good environment throughout the season and don't have to give away tickets on Groupon to sell midweek games, yet big games get big prices. The great thing about timbers soccer culture is that if you usually go to games, you have a pub nearby that will have a great game day experience. At the end of the day, THE TIMBERS ARE HOSTING THE CUP!!! Don't let our small historic stadiums lack of tickets get you all salty and out of sorts when the big thing is that we are 90min from another parade!!!!
TL;DR- THE TIMBERS ARE HOSTING THE CUP!! WOULD YOU RATHER PLAY IN THE NORTHERN FISHING VILLAGE AS A NEUTRAL SITE BECAUSE THEIR AMERICAN FOOTBALL STADIUM HAS A LOT OF SEATS? DIDNT THINK SO, THERES GONNA BE A PARTY IN PORTLAND!!!
