TIFU by letting my Mother read texts from my Ex-Girlfriend

Obligatory happened a few years back (Almost 2 years ago)

For context I'm somewhat open about my relationship with my Ex with my parents due to the fact she was a pretty big part of my life for a good few years and our breakup wasn't the cleanest all round.

So my Ex-Girlfriend and I had been apart for roughly 2 years at this point, yet due to the circumstances of our breakup we were locked in this On-Off again situation where we constantly juggled the idea of getting back together / trying again.

However on this particular day I had received a text from her that I wasn't exactly happy with and so I retaliated and it started an argument as always, we went back and forth for a few hours before leaving the fight at an awkward stalemate where both of us were in a bad mood. several hours later I get a long text, we're talking paragraphs here of pure venting, basically saying the argument was my fault etc etc.

Upon reading the wall of text she'd dropped on me I was extremely annoyed, since it basically was her doing her usual of playing the victim and twisting words to shift the blame, so I left her on read and decided replying right now would probably do more harm than good. I went about the rest of my evening with a face like thunder and my Mother caught on pretty quick that it was Ex-related, since it was a particular kind of pissed-off.

She was pretty invested in our relationship as over the years of us being together her and my Ex got pretty close and she was sort of in the firing line when it came to an end so understandably wanted to know what the issue was this time around, and I made the terrible decision of cluing her in on the argument at hand.

Failing to take into account that my Mother is technologically inept. I hand her my phone to read the text chain, and while scrolling she's asking me about details etc, now mind you my Mother has little to no experience with a smartphone and so while scrolling in her extremely careful yet clumsy manner she suddenly lets out a "ooh, bugger what did I just do?"

She hands me the phone and I stare in horror at the potential havoc she may have just unleashed.

The Facebook messenger app; through which we'd had this conversation, to those to who don't know has a small button, on the lower right hand side, which allows you to send a quick tap emoji, in this case a thumbs up, at the simple (albeit accidentally) press of a button.

And my Mother in her fumbling managed to graze this button, slightly holding it for a second or two before releasing.

Sending my already annoyed Ex-Girlfriend, a nice big πŸ‘ in response to a 4-5 paragraph long rant about how I'm at fault.

Needless to say she was furious, and quite honestly I was struggling to contain my laughter at what was going on, in much the way you laugh at an uncontrollable string of bad luck or happy accident.

And so there I am, my Mother mortified after I explained what had just happened through my laughter, with my phone now displaying a (...) on my Ex's side indicating her now livid typing, no doubt containing all the foul language she can muster.

I was doubled over laughing so hard for a solid 5-10 minutes, because quite honestly as far as fuck up's go this was by far the most perfectly absurd situation I could have gotten into.

TL;DR - Ex-Girlfriend and I have a fight, I show the Facebook messages to my invested Mother, who accidentally sends my already furious Ex a big fat πŸ‘in response to her 4-5 paragraph rant about how it's all my fault, needless to say we are no longer in an On-Off again situation.
