Which Thinkpad is most akin to modern day laptops?

I am a student looking to invest in a ThinkPad. My main requirements would be something that is:

- relatively modern looking to the common eye (slim, stylish) - I appreciate this may be difficult with Thinkpads
-portable - a small backpack so would hate to carry a 15.6" around
-battery life (main reason for switching)

My main uses would be school work, youtube, typing and netflix ( everyday common uses). Multitasking would be VERY beneficial

Currently Ive found a cheap X270 on sale so if anyone can advise that would be great. This is the first one ive checked so Im willing to take any advice - Total newbie!
