Wanting to get back into 40k...

Started when i was around 10-11. I still remember the first shop in my neighborhood and the older guys who egged me on. It was a real toss up between chaos and dark angles, but the green got me.
I am now looking to jump back in at 30. My biggest thing is , when i last stopped playing it was either big battles or small skirmish's. if i could start with small battle's, my question is, is that still a thing? ill be Dark angels till i die tho.
