I’m going through the show, I still don’t know if Livia was faking the dementia or if she was full and well aware of everything. I’m watching the first two seasons and, is she really this calculated female mobster that Tony talked about?

Or, with her conversations with Junior, were these just some venting conversations or did she know 100% what she was saying would get Tony killed? I remember when Tony came to the hospital and grabbed a pillow just as she had a stroke and he insisted he saw her smiling; but she WAS crying, wasn’t she?

Especially as Janice and whoever her name is comes and goes through the basement and Livia had only kept things from and about Tony alone. Did she love him or was this just strange ways of loving him? I wonder if the actor didn’t pass away if she would’ve kept going on, if Chase would’ve had her pass away anyways or if she would’ve finally been killed by Tony like we saw with Chrissy?

I’m so confused to see her as high strung and dramatic, night at the opera or as the woman who broke Johnny Soprano.
