EDIT: Solved by nattybumpo123, such a simple solution too.

Hi r/techsupport!

So about 18 months ago, I bought a new desktop from iBuyPower, and recently it's developed a problem on startup. Whenever I try to boot up my computer, the MSi splash screen comes up normally, followed by the Marvell boot screen, but after that (and flashing the MSi splash screen again) it stops at a black screen with a blinking underscore in the top left.

I can work around this by spamming the F keys when the Marvell screen comes up (because I don't have any idea which one actually works) and when it asks me where to boot from, I select my SSD. Windows then boots normally.

I've backed up all my data (just updating with a few new Skyrim mods I've downloaded, so I'm backing everything up again) and I can use Hibernate instead of Shut Down without issue, but I know I'm going to have to confront this problem sooner than later... so why not Zoidber now?

I know you'll probably need my DxDiag, so I uploaded it to pastebin.

Things I know off the top of my head:

  • Windows 7
  • Intel Core i7
  • nVidia GeForce GTX 460
  • 80 GB SSD main drive
  • 1 TB HDD data drive

Everything else... I'm clueless on. If you need any more info, just tell me what and how to find it. If you have any answers, I'd be beyond grateful.

Help me /r/techsupport, you're my only hope.

As a bit of an afterthought, Skyrim has been randomly crashing to desktop on me today. I played yesterday with all the same mods installed, no issue. I've tried reverting to older saves, still get CTD; tried disabling some of the heavier mods and lowering graphics quality, still CTD. So if there's any thoughts on that... I'd love you even more.
