Monitor not recognised by a game each time I turn the monitor OFF

Post Body

Hello,

I'm running a dual monitor setup and when I shutdown my PC, I also turn both my monitors OFF.

When I boot my PC back on, I turn ON both monitors, but the "faulty" one takes longer to boot so Windows is already ready when that happens so I can see the display adapting to the "new" screen.

The issue I have is that one game I play doesn't handle that well for some reasons. It will reset its in game setting to using my 2nd monitor instead and go back to fullscreen.

What in game settings look like : https://i.imgur.com/AN50gjP.jpeg

The game uses a config.ini file but it seems to bypass it as even after setting it as "read only", the issue still happens.

In the config.ini file, the monitors are remembered as

DisplayName=\.\DISPLAY1 DisplayName=\.\DISPLAY2

(depending on which one is saved)

I am having issues as to understand what exactly could be causing this issue.

My main guess would be that the game checks for a monitor ID that doesn't exist anymore since the monitor got turned OFF, like Windows would give it a different ID everytime, and then defaults back to the 1st monitor that got turned ON, in which case I would love to know if there is a workaround to save those settings somehow.
