Post Body

Last year my wife and I decided to separate due to unrelated circumstances. But due to the increasing cots of rent and cost of living ended up still sharing the same apartment we have while married.

We are trying to figure out how to file out taxes because we are separated but it seems like neither one of us can claim the earned income credit because we still are under the same roof ? Even though we pay everything separately like normal roommates would do ?

Does this make sense? We are in the process of filing for divorce and finish our separation legally.

Any advice would be appreciated.
