Hey Gang! Hadn't had anything to add to the chronicles, until 30 seconds ago. I present, the dumbest dev ever.
Dev walks over to my desk as I'm greedily and foolishly trying to shove my lunch in my mouth.
Derp: "Hey YankeeNinja. I can't login to my computer."
Me: "Ok, are you getting an error message?"
SIGH
Me: "Why the sigh?"
Derp: "Ehhhh, well, I need to try to remember what it says."
Me: "...OK, so what happens when you try to sign in?"
Derp: "Well....ummmm...it's the username/password fields, but then there's an error."
Me: "...OK, what does the error say?"
Derp: "Something about locked out and referenced account."
I browse AD and, sure enough, his account is locked out on one of the DCs. I unlock it and tell him to go back to his desk and try again and to call me from his desk.
PHONE RINGS
Me: "Yankeeninja speaking."
Derp: "OK, i'm at my desk, I'm trying to sign in and it's not....Oh, it's working! Why did this happen?"
Me: "You typed your password incorrectly too many times and your account locked out. It's a security feature."
Derp: "We should look into that. It's annoying that I cant login after that happens."
Me: "It's for security to the network to prevent unauthorized access to the system."
Derp: "But, I am authorized."
