DAE listen to their synths while they work?

Sometimes I get sick of listening to music on spotify or soundcloud, so I put a 16 step pattern on my volcas or monologue and just listen to it while I work, tweaking a parameter every few minutes. I'm doing actual day-job work at the same time (programming), so it's actual work, not just synth noodling (I think).
