It will feature lots of artwork, interviews from the synth diy world, music from the likes of you folks, patch sheets, interviews with electronic musicians, articles/guides to simple synths, music reviews, synth porn. It will be focused on the non-professional DIY world as there's lots of very interesting things coming out of peoples bedrooms these days. There will be no snobbery about the specifics, as long as it's interesting and relevant :)
Would any of you fine folks be interested in contributing in any way? I'm completely open to any and all ideas be it musical, editorial or artistic(al?). If you know of anyone doing interesting things with synths or electronics outside the professional realm then let me know! I'm based in London, but I don't want it to be location specific.
As for the tape, basically anything goes as long as it's mainly electronic and is non-commercial (I'm looking at you EDM). I just think that there is a lot of really interesting music being produced by bedroom tinkerers with no inclination to release it properly beyond soundcloud and I think this is a cool way of putting it together in the real world. I'm going to set up a soundcloud so artists can submit their tracks for the tape but you could also post links here or pm me.
I'm mostly doing this because I'd really love to read something like this myself and there is zero financial motivation. It will be as cheap as possible and all the proceeds will go straight into making Issue 2. The first issue will be as simple as possible and I'll probably only do around 30.
