In the near future, I plan to purchase eight hard drives, at 16 TB each for my Synology Diskstation 1815 (I am considering upgrading to the 1821 model but someone told me that Plex is better with the 1815 ). I currently have eight 8TB drives, but they are full.
So far the best deals I found are:
WD Red Pro 16TB at $299.99 each on many websites.
Seagate Enterprise 16TB at $219 each https://www.ebay.com/itm/354163479355
Toshiba Enterprise 18TB at $285 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093Z5LFWD?th=1
Not a complete deal breaker but someone told me that enterprise hard drives can be quite loud.
I checked out https://shucks.top/ but seems I will save only about $10 per drive to shuck them and they won't be red.
I also checked out https://diskprices.com
My main uses for my NAS will be downloading, seeding, storing, and playing music and movies via Plex.
Thank you for any advice that you may have.
