how long before travel.

Have a trip planned through the souther US. Was going to being my SB however she cancelled witn a week to go. Wanting company for the trip, however it is a trip with multiple destinations... Would I be better off searching for a SB local to bring with me or someone local that would come for the trip? I tend to be striking out a lot. Has anyone any advice on finding a last minute travel SB?
