Title pretty much says it all. My dudes and dudettes do really well on days I can have them outside from 9am-5pm or so. However, it's been rainy and/or overcast OR a 65% chance of rain so I'm afraid to chance putting them out when I'm gone.
I want the small/beginner setup for around $30. The popular choices I see on Amazon are the clamp light with CFL 100W/6500K bulb (about $20 total), or the LED strip clamp lights, or the LED hanging panel. These are $25-$30.
I'm tempted to rule out the panel because I don't have a great place to hang it, BUT I will make it work if they're the best for my money.
Lastly, for the mods and community, I made this post to also get some discussion going on the two choices. Besides the awesome pricier setups which are great to look at/drool over, I can't find many people that are in my exact situation.
I see people that have multiple panels, or multiple bulbs, or the bigger long fluorescent lights. I haven't seen anything like a guide or rule of thumb for what is best based on price range, plant type, etc. I hope this isn't a ridiculous thing to hope for, because lots of other hobbyist communities have similar "if this, get this" type guides or flowcharts.
TL;DR: CFL bulb and reflective light, or LED clamp/panel? $30 budget.
