I am thrilled to share that I’m in a new relationship, and that we have progressed to the initial trial and negotiation phase of our dynamic.

Background: I (30 F, sub) have only been in one short-lived dynamic, have been researching BDSM & lurking on Reddit for several years. My (32 M) Dom (u/vengeful_calculus) has been in a few dynamics, up to a few years in length. He is pretty kink-informed and has attended some munches & classes in our local community. That said, we both know there are many of you out here with much more experience, and we’d love to hear from you on the following:

How do you structure your negotiations on bratting within your dynamic?

We already have a pretty healthy living document covering everything we believe a dynamic needs to address- from safewords and kinks, to definitions of terms like punishment v. funishment v. discipline, to goals and purpose of our dynamic. But haven’t found much for resources on how to negotiate bratting.

I am more service sub than brat, but I do enjoy the playful teasing that bratting adds to our dynamic. Daddy isn’t afraid to tame a brat, and enjoys the back and forth as well. We’ve engaged in a fair amount of banter thus far, but have mostly gone by feel and kept it light since we are learning. We both want to add this to our “lesson plan” document (which may eventually grow into a contract), but are stumped on how to structure/organize it.

ALL: What are some categories of classic brat & tamer behavior that we need to add to our vocabulary, define, and discuss?

• Any pitfalls you’d like to share that we could learn from?

• Any inspiration on favorite brat activities and funishments you get into?

• Brats: What are some examples of typical behaviors you may engage in to receive funishment vs. a true punishment?

• Tamers: What are some examples of limits (hard and soft) that you place on bratting?
