I wanted to share my story and hear back from the group.
I live in Western Montana and wanted a small AWD hatch. The 5-door Impreza fits the bill because I don't do much off-road driving (dirt and gravel at worst), and I like that it's offered in a manual transition. Also, a catch affords me some flexibility when car camping.
I am opting for the base model, as the sport is the only other model with a manual. Frankly, I have the red/black seats, and the add-on package doesn't offer me much.
I have already dealt with my dealer and can order a 2023 now, seeing it delivered in about three months. However, I am waiting a few weeks for Subaru to have the 2023s available to build on their website, if for nothing more than the personal satisfaction of seeing my car on the screen.
Until now, I have always paid cash for used cars. This will be my first brand new vehicle, and I am pumped about that. I am also excited to have something more reliable in the snow than my current Honda Civic.
I'm curious how the group got into ownership of your own Impreza's. Overall, are you satisfied owning your cars? What should I expect now that I am a Subaru owner? What are their service centers like? What are some nice upgrades I can make, maybe I K&N washable air filter etc.? How is the media hub and the eyesight technology? Would you recommend studless snow tires for harsh Montana winters?
Thanks, everyone!
