Something people tend to forget about dancing and dancers is that most of us are from different backgrounds.

You have got to stop comparing yourself to the girl with a perfect tan, bombshell body, and “no flaws”. It does not matter because she is not flawless she just has different resources to make it look that way.

Even though some of these girls will turn their nose up because “I have 40k in savings my first year”… ignore it. Stop letting that get in your head and make you feel bad. Not everyone had the same resources. Even people who started from the “bottom” may have had more resources than you did.

So go ahead and start here and now. At whatever stage you’re in. Whether your savings is zilch or you’ve got hundreds of thousands. It does not matter. Start wherever you are with just $1. Put it in savings. And then build your life from there.

It’s alright to buy the goddamn Walmart furniture and shave instead of wax. It’s okay to wear shein and not Victoria secret. It’s alright to take your fucking time. Be whatever you have to be, wherever you are right now. Even if that means you can’t go get a gorgeous manipedi. And you’re still budgeting routinely. And you’re doing it on your own. It’s fine lol
