Gave direct deposit info but still getting check??

I did my taxes the last two years with HR Block and used the refund advance option with the Emerald Card each time. To get around that issue I waited until the IRS released the “get my payment” portal and I gave my direct deposit info. I was told a payment date was not scheduled yet and I will be notified and that my payment would be deposited to my account below. I checked daily where it continued to say it would be deposited to my bank account number given. I check again today and it gave me a date, April 24th, but that it would be mailed. What gives?
