Hello everyone! I had so many helpful responses last time I asked this community so I figured I'd give it a go again. Some important info: I'm pretty new to everything smart home (At the moment I only got an Echo 4th Gen, and a few smart bulbs), I'm based in northern Europe.
There's been a lot of break-ins in houses in my area recently and my partner decided that she would feel a lot better if we had a surveillance camera monitoring our front door. She had a look around and got perplexed by so many cameras being wire cameras and not battery powered. When she asked me questions like "Why doesn't the burglar just pull the plug out and continue their business? Why would I ever want a wire camera over a battery powered one?" I couldn't give her a good answer. Hopefully you could help with that.
What are you using for front door security, and what are some pitfalls to look out for? Our budget is not amazing and its nice if it would be somewhat user friendly.
I might come with more questions later, but I hope you all have some experiences and opinions to share.
