Frame rate issues on the 360

So I've been playing Skyrim on the 360 until I get a computer capable of running it, and I'm getting horrendous frame rate drops - it's nigh unplayable at worst!
Any advice on how to fix it? I've got Skyrim installed to my harddrive and right now I'm sitting in Folgunthur getting 1 fps, if that helps at all. (and please, no "just get it on PC, lol" comments. I would if I could.)
EDIT: The fps goes back to normal in menus, and it comes and goes. Just got it back to normal now; no doubt it'll slow to a crawl later....
