I am looking to buy myself a used Octavia mk3, pre 2017, I just don't like the facelift look that much. What engines are good and what engines are not so good, I would like to buy a vRS, so only 2.0l engines, I want people who drove cars with these engines to tell me what to get. Honestly the diesel 184hp, seems better for mpg, but the 220hp petrol is not that far behind. I would also love to hear about any issues with these engines, common problems, or even major problems. I am going to use it a lot, daily drive to work and back, about 60 miles or so on open road. Both diesel and petrol seem to have high reviews from mechanics, but they are not the best to ask.
