Played a bit, took it slow, so I'm only in the first town section. Overall a very faithful vibe with enough new stuff hiding in the details.
Chose the hardest difficulty - the combat and survival is now actually challenging! I'm choosing encounters, planning my routes but still being surprised by enemy behavior. Itching to do some puzzles now.
The pace (and small changes to it) feels right, the voice acting is great. They've hit a sweet spot that makes the characters more believable but retains that Lynchian campy and weird vibe (albeit I'm still early in the game).
The music and ambiance is great, not to mention the visual style. The original holds a special place in my heart but dare I say it - the remake is looking out to be a way better gaming experience.
Anyway, can't wait to continue. Wishing you all having fun playing and congrats to the Bloober team - you did it!
About to get to pyramid head, got killed by legs. Going to sleep and do that in the morning.

Not compared to the OG, James is also supposed to feel inexperienced in fighting shit.
