Need help with my diet...

I am trying to lose weight (296lbs at 5'6") and I started on a new diet which seems promising.

Since I am only allowed to eat simple carbs I am stuck with bread and spaghetti with no sauce and my meals are kind of boring.

So far I have gained 12lbs over the past 5 days but I am sure that is just the break-in period, right?

Help me out with meal suggestions or other diet tips please, I am getting discouraged!
