[Bug/Glitch]

So I bought the game 2 days ago from humble bundle, and everything works... Except story mode. Granted, I run it at lowest settings with 20 fps, but nemesis forge, dlc, everything except story mode works, anyone know how to fix this? Edit: to clarify the problem,everytime I open the map, or go into a menu, Story mode freezes the game, but i can still hear sound, the mission icons slowly fade away, but this only happens after I leave an area, for example the starting forge tower area, playable, but if I leave that area, I can still play, but I cannot open a menu without the game freezing.
