Google is no longer offering the Wallet-prepays (like the $25 credit that came with the Nexus7 if you purchased one). Wallet-prepays are like an iTunes or Amazon giftcard; almost a debit card but not redeemable anywhere other than their respective stores. Google's help center Refers to the "Google Prepaid Cards", not prepaid Visa or Mastercards You can still use prepaid Visa and Mastercards as far as I know. A quick test this morning shows the non-refillable Visa "giftcard" debit cards are accepted and work just fine.
