Warning: TL;DR
Is it wrong that I am applying to a fed security job because im bored to tears at my current gig? I work armed security at the DMV. Its chill, I get to use all my own equipment, pay is at 20/hr, but there really aint shit to do besides pick up the occasional clip board, push in a chair or 2, and walk the exterior? I've only been with this company for 2 pay cycles but my mind is going numb listening to ticket numbers being called. I'll get someone who wants to act out but as soon as I pop up beind them, the problem is immediately defused and they chill (which is the most ideal outcome). This is once in a blue moon so im not complaining but this site is so damn small and there isnt enough to do to pass the time or any meaningful tasks to complete.
Fed job is way more money, better insurance, sign on bonus, etc. More strict but more to do, closer to home. Only real change would be having to change uniforms and equipment to their stuff and having to use dress pants (eww) instead of my professional looking 5.11 cargo pants. :/
Is this just a waste and I should just go all out and apply to PD?
