Advice for dealing with nitrogen narcosis
Post Body

How do you guys normally deal with nitrogen narcosis when diving at recreational depths?

I'm pretty new to diving (43 dives, AOW), and I find that in certain situations / conditions (i.e., lower temperatures, tired, dehydrated, stressed / nervous), I start to feel a little fuzzy at around 30m.

On one recent guided boat dive I started to feel the onset of actual panic at around 30m. I was diving in a group of 3 plus a DM. I immediately knew what was happening so I ascended slightly to around 25m and moved a little closer to the DM so I could signal him if I needed to call the dive and ascend separately (or buddy up with one of the OW groups diving in a shallower section of the reef). Symptoms subsided pretty quickly and I slowly was able to return to 30m with no further symptoms.

I'm generally fine at depth and did many other dives that trip to 30m, but this particular instant got me curious how other divers deal with narcosis.

Thanks in advance for any tips.
