Can't remember book about super-AI. Book begins with lab explosion. Within last 3 years.

I read a book, within the last 2 or 3 years I think, that was about several countries' research efforts toward Artificial Superintelligence. I remember the book started with one of the research labs blowing up. spoiler
Edit: Feel free to ignore this post, it was Infinity Born by Douglas E. Richards. I had mistook it among the "Infinity Trilogy" books by S. Harrison.
