When I first started getting schizophrenia one of the first things I noticed was a sore throat. I had been hearing voices that were produced from my own vocal cords. It wasn’t easy for me to recognize audio hallucinations as they meshed together with my own thoughts. Some things looked magical, usually fall things look supernatural, I live in New England and it’s very colorful in the fall.

I used to do magick along the lines of Kabbalah and thought the demons I had called on were finally reaching me. Over ten years ago before I had schizophrenia I thought I witnessed god, it was like seeing everything at once. Has anyone had a spiritual experience before or during their diagnosis of schizophrenia ? Sometimes I hear voices which is the voice of god. I listen to the voice coming from my throat and use this to guide my behavior. It’s usually not right.

Also , I’ve gained 40-50 lbs and currently weigh over 300. I’m on paliperidone, buspirone, lamictal, and Seroquel. I like Seroquel the most as it makes me sleepy. Paliperidone definitely works. After a few days of taking it the voices went away. It was like having a demon in my throat. That’s what I bet people thought it was 300 years ago.
