im sad the game ive played since i was a child is dying because people can't get over microtransactions as if it has any *real* impact on the game.

it makes me sad people just parrot that the game sucks over and over when 90% of you havent even tried it, and the 10% who has, only tried it during the first week of EOC and decided it is completely impossible for runescape to recover from that, even though they pretty much scrapped the first iteration of EOC.

it just makes me so sad that this game truly actually is good but it's going to die because everyone refuses to even give it a chance.

the only 2 reasons ive ever heard for runescape being bad is the MTX and EOC; and as someone who has played for over 20 years, has played osrs for hundreds of hours, and is still actively playing runescape everyday, it just simply doesnt make sense to me.

Combat is quite literally the exact same as osrs except we have fancy animations now. sure it can get more in depth if you want, but thats the kicker; "if you want." combat can be just as click and wait as osrs.

and with MTX? im really not trying to sound like an ass or something but why does it bother you guys so much? are you not responsible with your money? are you afraid if you have the option to spend money, you will? even with the daily free stuff, keep in mind our goals are different than osrs. we go to 104m xp or sometimes even 200m xp in our skills. 99 isn't an accomplishment in this game, 120 is the new 99. thats almost 10x more experience, even with our increased xp rates, it still takes an incredible amount of time and dedication. probably about the same time a 99 would take on osrs, even with our free keys/spins/whatever you wanna call them, microtransactions every day

not to mention the absurd cost it actually is to get meaningful xp with real life money lol, just because one or two streamers did it for views, doesn't mean its a real way of doing that. those people are still getting paid for those videos they made years ago, you can think of it as an investment they made rather than maxing a runescape character. maxing is just what came from the initial investment.

i cant help but wonder if maybe it's runelite that keeps you guys playing osrs, with the whole marking tiles thing and not having to remember where to stand/click puts bossing on a kind of easy mode, or quests essentially being done for you by an overlay, with osrs being easy itself, kinda makes it a no brainer game kinda thing? idk. i havent used much of the tile marking thing.

i really just dont understand why rs is dying, i get its because of MTX and EoC but as i touched on, those excuses are really just irrelevant and dont really hold any weight when you look into them...

(afterthought after reading) and for the runescapers whore no doubt gonna bring up the really egregious stuff like hero's pass or purple santas on TH or the like, heres what i gotta say about that lol hero's pass was ridiculous lmao in game buffs for real life money lmao that was wack i honestly stopped playing when that happened, for the first time in probably 10 years i actively made a decision to look for another game, as did a lot of other people. but the thing is, jagex did go back on the update, completely removed it, and is trying to do better. ill give them the benefit of the doubt because deep down, we all know it wasn't jagex themselves pushing it, all jagex did was put a costume on it to hide what their investors really wanted
