Are There Harder RPG Systems Than D&D 5e Which Still Use 5e Core Structure?

Post Body

Hey guys. Are there any decent "hard" 5e type structured games out there? Especially in the fantasy or steampunk type tech genres? I recently started playing Iron Kingdoms and I think they do a great job of addressing a lot of the extremely broken auto-win mechanics of 5e.

I'm looking to design a campaign in Tale Spire and run a game during The Age of Sail technology era, but steampunk is an entirely acceptable alternative. I want to take advantage of all the digital tools offered by D&D Beyond for streamlining campaign creations.

Alternatively, any non 5e core mechanics with amazing access to online tools like D&D Beyond?
