Failed first attempt

I tried to make rosin today with a straightener and clamp. I followed the steps but I got zero rosin. I tried making a few adjustments to no avail. I ended up with dry pressed together flower and no rosin; I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I want to upgrade to at least a cheaper portable type press but I wanted to try it first to see if I’d be interested in doing so. Any advice ? Tia
