Im beyond embarrassed for this incident but Im interested in as much support as possible. I recently got a new roommate. In the short week of meeting him i stupidly sent him $500 because he promised me a product worth over 3k, in short he scammed me. About 2 weeks have passed since I sent him my money. He keeps making up excuses about why he doesn't have the product i paid for, saying he left supplies out of town or whatever. Now he says he wants to refund me since Ive been waiting so long but we've tried cashapp paypal everything. He keeps making excuses about why i cant get my "refund". It's become clear that he's been lying from the start and doesnt plan on giving me back $500. He makes a new excuse everyday, he probably thinks i'm gonna let months go by and let it go. I am a college student so its not a negligible amount. This isnt our only issue just the biggest one. I approached a new roommate with an intention to be friends and when we met he was ranting about how he wants to be the kind of roomies that hang out and get along well. Clearly i was too trusting but that doesnt mean i deserve this I feel that, as a man, he's been lying to my face and playing with my money. I'm thinking we need to fight. what has me uneasy and hesitant is that he has a gun and even if i move out after we fight, he knows my car and we'll still be in the same apartment complex. Im 22, he's built like fat and way taller and stronger than me but its the principle. Im really not a fighter at all i'm super nice but he's bringing out a different side. Advice? Fight him? He also "hates gay people" very open and ignorantly and told me this not knowing that's my people
