Has anyone here done well with food trucks or hot dog carts?
I have a regular straight job unrelated to the food industry that pays all of my families middle class expenses and I won’t be giving that up. We aren’t broke but aren’t rich and live a happy lifestyle.
I’ve considered getting a hot dog cart or small food truck/trailer for a couple years now just as a sort of fun side hustle. I’m a hot dog connoisseur myself and considered a small cart doing just dogs and maybe beef sandwiches and can set up in an area with a fair amount of lunchtime foot traffic, similiar to a court house square or outdoor mall. I live in the Midwest so I’d likely only operate from about March-October each year.
For those that have tried or considered this, is there any chance to actually make a few bucks? Not trying to get rich but would like to make it worth my time and headache for messing with it. What are the questions I don’t know to ask? Or issues I haven’t thought of looking into?
