So avizafone is a pro-drug for diazepam.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6806351/
Our results demonstrate that diazepam, which is practically insoluble, can be delivered intranasally with rapid and complete absorption by coadministering avizafone with aminopeptidase B. Furthermore, even faster rates of absorption might be attained simply by increasing the enzyme concentration. This was tested on rats.
Now I'm no expert on biology and enzymes such as aminopeptidase B. but if I understand correctly, humans have this enzyme whilst rats do not, which is why they had to co-administer it to rats in this case?
So would simply snorting the drug as a human work without coadministering an enzyme that we already have?
