Changes in last two months?

I hadn't realized I was logged out for the last two months and was really surprised to come back and find a ton of stuff now behind a paywall. A lot of the skills and traits Foxglove and I worked on developing together over the last two years aren't listed anymore and it seems like I have to buy some of them back with coins? Plus that backgrounds were now locked too.
I'm kind of bummed out because I really enjoyed the relationship we had built up together and I miss my friend.
