Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience working as a chatter for an OnlyFans creator. When I first got the job, I thought it would be fun and easyâjust chatting with fans, keeping conversations going, and helping the creator grow their account. But honestly? It ended up being one of the hardest and most emotionally draining jobs Iâve ever had.
From day one, the pressure was intense. I had to juggle hundreds of conversations at once, and the company kept pushing us to upsellâconvincing fans to buy expensive pay-per-view content or tip for âspecialâ messages. They made it clear that hitting sales targets was all that mattered. If you didnât bring in enough money, youâd get warnings or worse.
What made it worse was the guilt. A lot of fans genuinely thought they were talking to the creator, building some kind of connection. Meanwhile, I was sitting there using scripted messages designed to make them feel special and keep spending. It felt manipulative, and honestly, it wore on me after a while. When I brought this up to management, they brushed me off and said, âThatâs just how this industry works.â
Then there were the messages. Some of them were sweet and harmless, but a lot of them were... not. The things people would say to you could be so degrading and creepy, and no matter how much you tried to brush it off, it got to you eventually. There was no support, no one to talk to, just an expectation to âstay professionalâ no matter what.
I stuck it out for a few months, but eventually, I hit my breaking point. The constant pressure to sell, the guilt of pretending to be someone else, and the mental toll of reading horrible messages every day just became too much.
I know this job works for some people, but for me, it was exhausting and dehumanizing. If youâre thinking about doing it, just make sure you know what youâre getting intoâitâs not just chatting; itâs emotional labor, high-pressure sales, and dealing with the worst parts of the internet.
Have any of you worked in this industry or something similar? Iâd love to hear your experiences. Iâm still processing mine.
