Hey folks so first off, thanks for reading! This is my first post here as I feel I'm usually better about these things.

So I have been with my gf for going on 8 years now. Our relationship has been great for almost all of it up until now. About a year ago or so, she decided she wanted to swap up birth controls and unfortunately it was not a good move. She was breaking out and putting on weight and generally just not feeling well. She decided to switch it back and thankfully (for both of us 😂) almost all of the side effects went away except for her weight gain unfortunately.

Now my girlfriend has as always been tiny, around 115-120lbs. And over the past year she has put on maybe 20lbs. In my opinion, it's barely noticeable. However this has really crushed her.

She's always had nagging self image/esteem issues and we've been able to get around them up until now. But lately (about 6-8 months now) she's become very negative, over critical, and it's even starting to effect our sex life as well. I'm usually a very positive and happy person but even I have become irritable and negative lately since this seems to be the only thing she wants to talk or think about.

She's been to therapy, we've tried working out together, we've talked about this numerous times, and I try to let her know as often I can that she's beautiful and that I'm lucky to have her. But nothing really seems to help and she seems stuck in such a rut that she's begging to give up on even trying to work on her mentality.
