My[32M] friend[32M] who I moved far away from and haven't seen in 5 years is marrying someone I never met. Is it okay to not want to attend the Wedding or Bachelor party?
Post Body

I last saw this person in 2019. I live about 8 hours from them. I've sort of moved on, as we never really had the connection for a lasting close friendship. Yet this friend is clinging to me for dear life. I try to distance myself from them as best I can without hurting their feelings. Well now he wants me to attend both a wedding and bachelor party. I most certainly do not want to attend the bachelor party 8 hours away, and I am unsure if it's worth attending a wedding for someone I have never met.

I've not been to a lot of weddings, but I don't understand the point of attending a wedding for a friend when I only know one of the two people. He has been dating her for 2 or 3 years and I've never spoken to her once, despite talking to this friend almost weekly.
