Commission split in office
Post Body

I'm in Florida for reference

My broker, who also happens to be my Grandma, is adamant on me being involved in another agents dealings even though I have no relationship with either the seller or buyer

Situation is that the office phone rings with another agent wanting to sell one of our listings, but instead of directing to the List agent, she wants me to handle the transaction and give me part of the commission (50% of total office commission) with no prior written team agreement or anything in place.

I tried explaining to her that there's no room for me in the transaction as both the buyer is represented by an agent and the seller has a written agreement with the list agent, not me. But she insists that I can "negotiate the deal" and lay claim to part of the received office commission.

Has anybody heard of this?

Am I wrong for not wanting involvement in these dealings?

(This is for a commercial listing)
